Have a last minute decision to go for a day trip on a random Monday. Melaka usually was packed during weekends and public holiday. So, it’s awesome to enjoy a day in Melaka during a “Monday-Blue”. (Don’t beat me)
We start our journey after get a light breakfast in car around 10am. 1.5hour journey from Petaling Jaya to Melaka. Quite smooth traffic tho.
We came to the famous and long-looking-forward Klebang Original Coconut Milk Shake. The coconut blended well with ice, Wall’s vanilla ice-cream, the coconut meat and topped with a scope of vanilla ice-cream. It is really perfect to drink under the hot weather in Melaka. What best is the texture of the coconut milk shake is really well chewing because of the perfect blend of the coconut meat.

What I love of foursquare is they always brings me to get nice food. LOL. So, we came to 496 Baba Low’s which is not that famous among the tourist yet well known around the locals. It is not located at the central of those tourist usual visit area yet you can reach by using map. It is just a not well renovated stall beside the road.
We just get to try their Pai Tee and Nyonya Laksa. Heard from one of my friend their Nyonya kuih is nice too but too bad they were sold out. Nyonya laksa is good and flavorful.
Kueh Pai Tee is a popular Peranakan dish. It has similar filling as popiah and putting in a thin and crispy pastry tart shell.
Overall, the food is quite ok for me. Although there were tips in foursquare saying their service were bad and the aunty is not polite, and the aunty looks very impatient during the peak hour, yet the aunty was quite friendly and smile to me, she even chat a little and kidding with me when I was paying my bill.

After the lunch, we went to the Jonker Street area to park our car and walk around.
We come across this art & craft store – Red Handicrafts 剪紙人家 which catchy my eyes because I love vintage, antique, oriental art thingy. So we spend some time in the store to have a look. (Can’t simply spend nowadays ><) They have a lot of traditional Chinese paper cutting art-pieces and souvenirs, t-shirts, angpao pack etc.

Taste Better Durian Puff is seriously awesome! I never thought that it will be so tasty as I’m not a big fans of durian.
One bite off to your mouth, the durian cream burst in your mouth, it was so smooth and creamy. The smells was really good too! I miss it already..
It is just located beside the public toilet area which is along the Jonker Street main road. If not mistake during the weekday they close at 6pm. They have several shops in klang valley too, maybe I can give a try next time.

Cafe hunting starts…
Firstly, we went to Mods Cafe which they have my dream car – Volkswagen Kombi Campervan parked inside the shop. The cafe decorated with European vintage items like the pinball machine, radio, black disc etc.
And this cafe style is totally my dream since I was secondary school. A Volkswagen Campervan which selling coffee and food, can drive around the town… (Ok, people’s always made my dream comes true before I can do it, my bad).
The minimum order here is a drink per person. So, we just had our usual cappuccino, taste no complaint tho it is not excellent. (I’m not a pro to comment)

Lastly, we purposely drove to Portuguese Settlement just to pack my favorite Mango Juice at the first stall where you parked your car. I usually buy from this stall, but peoples introduced the Joes Only One Mango Juice which located at very far end of the food court. So, your choice.
They used young and rip mangoes for the juice added in sour plum and ice. The perfect blend of the sweetness and sourness!
*i steal picture from google because i forgotten to take a pic of it before my whole family finished the 10 cups i brought back home) LOL
